Newspapers

There are a number of provincial and national newspapers in Ireland that carry information about horse shows and show results. A number of them also publish more substantial pieces on the Draught and Irish Sport Horse especially regarding the National Show and the Royal Dublin Show. The newspapers also have long established archives and photographic collections but which are difficult to search and retrieve information unless you know the date of the piece in question.However, many of the online newspapers now have searchable archives. A number of equine journalists wrote for the newspapers over the years including, Michael Slavin, Nicholas O’Hare, Grania Willis, Ruth Loney, Helen McCullough, Quentin Doran O'Reily and others.
